The serpentine gallery

Championing new ideas in contemporary art since 1970, the Serpentine has presented pioneering exhibitions for half a century from a wide range of emerging practitioners to the most internationally recognised artists of our time.

Across two sites only 5 minutes apart, in London’s Kensington Gardens, the Serpentine Galleries present a year-round, free programme of exhibitions, education, live events and technological innovation, in the park and beyond.

I visited Francis Kere's architect design back a few years back. The interior design was fascinating as the texture, design and colours compliment each other as bull and bright earth colours.

I also saw Christo and Jeanne Claude's

"The Mastaba" a few years back to having inspiration taken form many centuries back, these bright bold barrels, colours of pink blue and red really stand out within the greenery.

  The exploration of colour As an experimental artist and an abstract expressionist, looking upon the subject of exploration of colour I decided to do some artist research. researching artists such as, Pollock, Picasso and Hoffman I looked at how Pollock used the automatism technique dripping and splashing paint from heights, researching his most well known piece, "Blue Poles" also known as (NUMBER 11 ,1952 ) I can see how the technique enhances the effects that the splatters give depending on the height he let the paint fall from. However Hoffman focused more on the idea of Rhythm ,rhyme and the future of colour. his use of red, blue, green and yellow really accentuate the darker backgrounds of his work, he also explored shape and space in his work which I found interesting.
